Application of tert-Butyl glycidyl ether (TBGE, CAS:7665-72-7)

 
tert-Butyl glycidyl ether (TBGE) is a low-viscosity, high-reactivity monofunctional epoxy reactive diluent with dilution, toughening and crosslinking functions, widely applied in epoxy formulations, coatings, adhesives, electronic insulation and organic synthesis industries.
 

1. Reactive Diluent for Epoxy Resins (Core Application)

  • Reduce system viscosity effectively to improve fluidity and substrate wettability, ideal for solvent-free & high-solid formulations and lower VOC emission.
  • Enhance toughness of cured epoxy, improve crack resistance and thermal cycling stability against temperature alternation.
  • Its epoxy group chemically crosslinks with amine/anhydride curing agents without migration or bleeding, balancing mechanical strength and chemical resistance of finished products.
  • Typical uses: electronic potting, electrical casting, prepreg impregnation, fiber-reinforced composite, self-leveling epoxy flooring.
 

2. Coatings & Printing Inks

  • Solvent-free anticorrosive epoxy coatings for metal structures, tank inner lining, engineering machinery and marine decks to boost sprayability, gloss and resistance against acid, alkali and salt spray.
