Product Application
Sodium xylenesulfonate is a white or pale yellow liquid classified as a surfactant. It is soluble in water, with a pH of 7.0 in a 1% solution. Viscosity: 10 mPa·s at 20°C; 2.7 mm²/s at 20°C. It is primarily used as a coupling agent, solubilizer, cloud point depressant, detergent builder, dispersant, emulsifier, water-soluble growth promoter, and viscosity modifier. Applications include shampoos, household and dishwashing detergents, dry cleaning agents, hard surface and metal processing cleaners, biocides, adhesives, dyes and pigments, electroplating, lubricating cutting oils, photographic materials, inks, textiles, and leather processing.

🎯Uses
Widely employed in manufacturing daily cleaning products, it serves as a novel, highly effective, low-toxicity solubilizing conditioning agent for detergents.

🔬Production Method
Xylene is sulfonated with 96%–98% sulfuric acid to produce xylenesulfonic acid. This is then neutralized with caustic soda to yield crude sodium xylenesulfonate. The crude product undergoes decolorization, concentration, crystallization, and separation to obtain the final product.
