VA-086 is a non-ionic and non nitrile water-soluble azo polymerization initiator having a hydroxyl group at the end. The 10-hour half-life temperature is as high as 86 ºC, therefore, reduction of residual monomer can be expected by co-using it with another initiator.
VA-086 is used for the polymerization of polyacrylamide. It is used as a curing agent for epoxy resins and polyester resins, and is employed in the preparation of various paints, adhesives, coatings and composite materials, etc. It can generate free radicals through the thermal decomposition of the initiator in the system, thereby initiating the polymerization reaction and achieving the curing and cross-linking of the resins.
