Bedaquiline (CAS: 843663-66-1) is a novel anti-tuberculosis drug primarily used for the treatment of multidrug-resistant pulmonary tuberculosis (MDR-TB).
Mechanism of Action:
Bedaquiline inhibits the activity of ATP synthase in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, blocking the bacteria’s energy production and ultimately leading to bacterial death.
Applications:
Usually administered in combination with other anti-tuberculosis drugs for the treatment of adult multidrug-resistant tuberculosis.
Features:
It is the first new chemical entity approved for tuberculosis treatment in nearly 40 years, and it shows strong efficacy against drug-resistant strains.
