1.Chemical Properties
Tetrahydrofuran acrylate (TFA) is an important specialty acrylate ester. The cyclic ether group in its molecule is more reactive than the linear ether group, and the hydrogen atom on the α-carbon of the ether bond also exhibits some reactivity. This unique structure confers special properties on its subsequent products.
2.Applications
When acrylic resin containing tetrahydrofurfuryl ester of acrylic acid as a copolymer component is used in combination with amino resin, it can cure at relatively low temperatures (around 100°C). Additionally, its molecular bonds exhibit a certain degree of flexibility, enabling it to act as a plasticizer when used in combination with other resins. Furthermore, acrylic tetrahydrofuran ester can be used as a monomer diluent in UV-curable products. Its unique ring ether structure provides better adhesion to most substrates compared to other monofunctional monomers, while also exhibiting low shrinkage, strong weather resistance, high abrasion resistance, and excellent water resistance. As a result, it is widely applied in UV-curable adhesives, coatings, inks, and other fields.
