Applications:

Resorcinol has bactericidal, fungicidal, and antipruritic properties. Its bactericidal activity is one-third that of phenol, and its irritation and corrosiveness are also relatively low. Low concentrations promote keratin regeneration, while high concentrations have an exfoliating effect.

Uses;
Resorcinol, also known as 1,3-benzenediol and commonly known as resorcinol, is used in pesticides as an intermediate in the synthesis of the insecticide coumaphos, 3-chloro-4-methylcoumarin, and the herbicide oxyfluorfen. It is also used in the manufacture of various dyes, specialty coatings, pharmaceuticals, photosensitive materials, synthetic resins, adhesives, and cosmetics.
