Application

1. Pharmaceutical industry

    

   Serves as pharmaceutical raw material and excipient. It acts as dehydrant and diuretic, clinically used to reduce intracranial pressure and intraocular pressure for the treatment of cerebral edema and glaucoma. It is also widely used as filler, corrigent and lyophilization excipient in injections, tablets, lyophilized powder for injection and other preparations.

    
2. Food industry

    

   Used as sweetener, humectant and anticaking agent. With low sweetness and low hygroscopicity, it is applied in candies, pastries, chewing gums and cold drinks to prevent caking and extend shelf life.

    
3. Chemical & daily chemical industry

    

   Applied in the synthesis of resins, surfactants and plasticizers. Added into skin care and oral care products for moisturizing and soothing effects.

    
4. Agriculture & other fields

    

   Used as plant growth regulator and fertilizer additive; also applied in laboratory reagents and culture medium preparation.
