H-Tyr(tBu)-OH (CAS: 18822-59-8) is a protected derivative of L-tyrosine, in which the phenolic hydroxyl group is masked with a tert-butyl (tBu) group. This compound is widely used in solid-phase peptide synthesis (SPPS) to prevent side reactions involving the phenol during chain elongation. After synthesis, the tBu group can be removed under acidic conditions (e.g., with TFA) to restore the free tyrosine residue. It is commonly used in the preparation of pharmaceutical peptides, bioactive molecules, and peptide-based building blocks in organic synthesis.
