⚠️ Chemical Properties and Stability
Reactivity: The Si-H bonds in the molecule make it a mild reducing agent, capable of undergoing hydrogen silaneation reactions with alkenes in the presence of platinum catalysts, etc.; under the action of alcohols and bases, the Si-H bonds will hydrolyze and break, releasing hydrogen gas.
Sensitivity: Sensitive to air and moisture. It will decompose upon contact with water. It is recommended to store and use it under the protection of dry inert gases (such as nitrogen).
Stability: Stable at normal temperature and pressure, but it should be avoided from coming into contact with strong oxidants.

🛠️Main Applications

Diphenylsilane is mainly used as a selective reducing agent in organic synthesis. Compared to traditional metal hydrides (such as lithium aluminum hydride), its reaction conditions are milder and the treatment of by-products is more convenient.
Reduction reaction: It can selectively reduce amides, esters, imines, carbonyl compounds, etc. For example, when combined with a titanium reagent, amides can be reduced to aldehydes.
Hydrogenation of silane: As an effective hydrogenation silane reagent, it is used to introduce silicon groups into unsaturated molecules.
Materials Science: It is used for synthesizing organic silicon intermediates, polymer monomers, and has research and application in fields such as UV-curable materials and phosphorescent materials for electronic displays.

🛡️Safety and Storage

Hazard classification: Classified as a corrosive substance (Xi), with skin irritation properties (H315).
Personal protection: It is recommended to wear protective gloves and goggles during operation, and use it in a well-ventilated environment.
Storage conditions: It is recommended to store in a cool, dry place, sealed in an inert gas environment, and pay attention to moisture prevention.
