• Plant-derived Cholesterol has eliminated people’s concerns about the risk of animal viruses carried by animal-derived cholesterol, expanding its applications in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and health food industries.
• It can be used as a high-end pharmaceutical excipient in small molecule liposome drugs, nucleic acid drugs, mRNA vaccines, and protein drugs in non-animal-derived cell culture media.
  In addition, plant-derived cholesterol can also be applied in mid-to-high-end cosmetics and in the preparation of vitamin D3 series products derived from plants.
• Cholesterol is used in cosmetics and topical pharmaceutical formulations at concentrations of 0.3–5.0% w/w as an emulsifying agent. It imparts water-absorbing power to an ointment and has emollient activity. Cholesterol also has a physiological role. It is the major sterol of the higher animals, and it is found in all body tissues, especially in the brain and spinal cord. It is also the main constituent of gallstones.
