Bismuth Hydroxide (CAS: 10361-43-0) Applications

1. Adsorbent Material

   As a white powder with excellent adsorption capacity, bismuth hydroxide serves as an inorganic adsorbent for removing heavy metal ions and anionic pollutants in wastewater, as well as adsorbing and purifying trace acidic impurities in gas.
2. Raw Material for Dental Artificial Teeth
   It is added as a functional filler to substrates for artificial teeth and denture restorations to improve material compactness and corrosion resistance, adjust product color luster, and enhance the texture and biocompatibility of dentures.
3. Intermediate for Synthesizing Bismuth Salts
   It acts as a key chemical intermediate. Through neutralization and double decomposition reactions with various acids, it is used to prepare a full range of industrial and pharmaceutical-grade bismuth salts, including bismuth nitrate, bismuth carbonate, bismuth subcarbonate and bismuth citrate.
4. Other Auxiliary Applications
   It can be used as an additive in coatings and ceramics to boost the oxidation resistance of glaze surfaces. In the pharmaceutical industry, it functions as a precursor for astringent bismuth preparations. It is also applied in small dosages as a flame retardant and passivating additive for electronic components.
