Main Applications:
4,4′-Dihydroxydiphenylsulfonic acid is primarily used as a fixative. Additionally, it can serve as a plating solution additive, leather tanning agent, dispersant for high-temperature dyeing of disperse dyes, phenolic resin curing accelerator, and resin flame retardant. It is also an intermediate in the production of pesticides, dyes, and auxiliaries. As a substitute for bisphenol A, it can be used as a raw material for polycarbonates, epoxy resins, polyesters, phenolic resins, as well as polysulfones and polyethersulfones. This product is also used in the manufacture of colour photographic materials, photographic contrast enhancers, thermosensitive recording materials (colour developers), household surfactants, and high-efficiency deodorants. Using bisphenol S as raw material, it can be used to produce fixative A (known as Cibatex PA in foreign markets).

Bisphenol S possesses excellent heat resistance, light resistance, and antioxidant properties, making it a raw material for the synthesis of polycarbonates, epoxy resins, polysulfones, and polyether resins. Bisphenol S can also be used to synthesise dye fixatives and leather tanning agents, and serves as an intermediate in the production of electroplating additives, dyes, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and auxiliaries.

Bisphenol S is primarily used as a monomer for synthesising polysulfon resins and can also be directly applied in coatings, leather modifiers, dye intermediates, and metal electroplating brighteners. Bis(4-hydroxyphenyl)sulfon is a commonly used reactant in epoxy resin reactions and also serves as a thermal latent heat catalyst for epoxy resins.
