Application:
Use of mono-Methyl terephthalate (CAS No.: 1679-64-7):
1. Key Intermediate for Pharmaceutical Synthesis:
- Raw material for manufacturing anti-tumor drug Bexarotene, indicated for refractory cutaneous T-cell lymphoma, also applied in research of psoriasis and diabetes therapeutics.
- Building block for benzamide BRAF V600E inhibitors (targeted drugs for melanoma) and anti-HCV antiviral intermediates.
- Reference standard for related impurities of Bendamustine Hydrochloride for API quality control.
- Versatile scaffold for aromatic amides and carboxylic acid small-molecule targeted drugs.
2. Monomer for High-performance New Materials:
- Polymerization monomer of PBO (Poly(p-phenylene benzobisoxazole)) ultra-high-strength fiber, widely used in bulletproof materials, high-temperature aerospace composites and industrial high-strength ropes.
- Special monomer for copolyester and engineering plastics, generates fewer volatile byproducts during polymerization; applicable to medical sutures and eco-friendly coating resins.
3. Chemical Intermediate & General Organic Building Block:
- Intermediate in the production of dimethyl terephthalate (DMT) and purified terephthalic acid (PTA).
- Feedstock for terephthalate plasticizers and paint additives.
- Dual-functional building block with one carboxyl and one methyl ester group for fine organic synthesis and heterocycle preparation.
