Introduction;
Methoxypolyethylene glycols are water-soluble linear polymers with excellent lubricity, film-forming properties, moisturizing properties, adhesion, and dispersibility. They are environmentally friendly nonionic surfactants. Their series of products, fatty acid esters, and composites have been widely used in numerous fields.
Properties;
Methoxypolyethylene glycols are derivatives of polyethylene glycol, soluble in water, ethanol, and most highly polar organic solvents. They are not easily volatile, chemically stable, highly hydrophilic, and not easily hydrolyzed. They have low vapor pressure and good thermal stability, and are used as thickeners and lubricants in the textile printing and dyeing and daily chemical industries. When reacted with acrylic acid to produce MPEG acrylate, the prepared polycarboxylate high-efficiency cement water-reducing agent has a strong ability to retain cement particle dispersibility, resulting in products with advantages such as low dosage, high water reduction rate, good reinforcing effect, durability, non-corrosion of steel bars, and environmental friendliness.
Applications;
Methoxypolyethylene glycols are non-toxic and non-irritating, and are widely used in various pharmaceutical preparations. Low molecular weight methoxypolyethylene glycols are relatively more toxic; overall, glycols have relatively low toxicity. Topical application of methoxypolyethylene glycols, especially mucosal administration, can cause irritation and pain. In topical lotions, it can increase skin suppleness and has a moisturizing effect similar to glycerin. High oral doses of methoxypolyethylene glycols can cause diarrhea. In injectable formulations, the maximum concentration of methoxypolyethylene glycols 300 is approximately 30% (v/v); concentrations greater than 40% (v/v) can cause hemolysis.
