Application:

• 1-Indenone is used for organic synthesis. It is an important intermediate for the synthesis of Indinavir (indinavir).

About Synthesize method:

• Put the Dry hydrogen chloride gas into freshly distilled indene while maintaining the temperature at 5-10℃. The reaction requires 8-10 hours, after which the product is subjected to reduced-pressure distillation. The fraction collected at 90-103℃(1.73 kPa) yields α-chloroindane. This intermediate is then oxidized with chromium trioxide (CrO₃) in glacial acetic acid at 35-40℃ to produce 1-indanone (dihydro-1-indanone), with an overall yield of 50-60%.
