Introduction;
Iron chloride hexahydrate, Appearance: Brownish-yellow crystals. Properties: Odorless, with a slightly astringent taste, highly hygroscopic and deliquescent, deliquescing into a reddish-brown liquid in air. Extremely soluble in water; the aqueous solution is strongly acidic and can coagulate proteins. Easily soluble in ethanol and acetone, also soluble in liquid sulfur dioxide, ethylamine, and aniline; insoluble in glycerol and phosphorus trichloride.

Uses;
Primarily used as a water treatment agent, etching agent for printing plates and electronic circuit boards, chlorinating agent in the metallurgical industry, oxidizing and mordant in the dye industry, catalyst and oxidizing agent in the organic synthesis industry, chlorinating agent, raw material for manufacturing other iron salts and pigments, and in mineral processing.

Uses;
Nutritional supplement (iron fortifier). Used in infant formula, weaning foods, etc.

Analytical reagent for determining arsenic, lithium, tin, selenium, vanadium, thiocyanate, ferrocyanate, and serum total cholesterol, etc., pigments and catalysts, oxidizing agent.
