gamma-Decalactone is naturally present in fruits such as peaches, almonds, and strawberries. Propylene decanolactone has an atmospheric boiling point of 281 ℃/156 ℃ (2.3kPa) and is soluble in ethanol (1ml dissolved in 1mL of 90% ethanol), benzyl alcohol, benzyl benzoate, propylene glycol, alkaline solution, most non-volatile oils, and mineral oils.
It is almost insoluble in glycerol and water.
It is a colorless transparent to slightly yellow viscous liquid with strong coconut and peach fruit aromas, and a peach like aroma when diluted.
Application
As one of the most commonly used perfumes, c-decyl lactone is the most important synthetic flavor in the lactone series, as well as one of the products in use and sales volume.
It is second only to the use of peach aldehyde and coconut aldehyde, and is widely used in fruit flavor based flavor, especially in edible essence that needs peach flavor.
It can also be used in food preparation, soap making, daily cosmetics essence, and also as a flavor enhancer for margarine. C-decyl lactone is used in the formulation of daily chemical essence, which is mainly used to prepare floral essence such as orange blossom, lilac, acacia, jasmine, violet, etc.
Recommended Dosage:
The dosage is often less than 10% in the daily perfumes such as osmanthus, lily of the valley, white rose, etc. IFRA has no restrictions.
In the edible essence formula, it is mainly used to prepare dairy, cream, peach, citrus, coconut and other essence. The use limit of FEMA is (mg/kg): soft drink 2.0; Cold drinks 4.5; Candy 5.7; Baking food 7.1; Pudding products range from 0.08 to 8.0.
