Main Uses:
It is used as a pharmaceutical intermediate, in caffeine and vitamin B, and as a raw material for oil-soluble colorants in color films and 502 adhesives.
This product is an intermediate in pharmaceuticals, dyes, and other fine chemical products, used in the synthesis of esters, amides, acids, and nitrile compounds. In Japan, it is mainly used as an intermediate in cyanoacrylate-based fast-drying adhesives for bonding automotive parts and household appliance assemblies. It is also used in vitamin B6 and synthetic dyes. Ethyl cyanoacetate, methoxyacetylacetone, and ammonia cyclization yields 5-cyano-6-hydroxy-4-methoxymethyl-2-methylpyridine. Nitration, chlorination, and catalytic hydrogenation yield 3-amino-5-aminomethyl-4-methoxymethyl-2-methylpyridine. Further diazotization, hydrolysis, and salt formation yield vitamin B6.
Ethyl cyanoacetate is an intermediate in the preparation of diethyl malonate, from which 2-amino-4,6-dimethoxypyrimidine can be prepared as an intermediate for sulfonylurea herbicides, as well as for the insecticide fipronil, and also as an intermediate for the pharmaceutical vitamin B.
Storage Method:
Store in a cool, well-ventilated warehouse. Keep away from fire and heat sources. Keep containers sealed. Store separately from oxidizers, reducing agents, acids, alkalis, and food chemicals; do not mix with other substances. Equip the storage area with appropriate types and quantities of fire-fighting equipment. The storage area should be equipped with spill response equipment and suitable containment materials.
