Uses: Diethoxymethylsilane is used in the preparation of N,N’-methylsilanediyl-bis-phthalimide by reacting with phthalimide.
It is used as a reagent in the selective reduction of carbonyl compounds, hydorosilylation of alkenes, tandem reductive aldol reaction and rhodium-catalyszed silylcarbocyclization.
