1.General-Purpose Phenolic Antioxidant

Antioxidant 264 is an excellent general-purpose phenolic antioxidant. It is non-toxic, non-flammable, non-corrosive, and exhibits good storage stability. It inhibits or delays the oxidative degradation of plastics or rubber, thereby extending their service life. It appears as a white or pale yellow crystalline powder, soluble in solvents such as benzene, toluene, methanol, ethanol, acetone, carbon tetrachloride, acetic acid, oils, ethyl esters, and gasoline, but insoluble in water and dilute caustic soda solutions. An excellent antioxidant additive for petroleum products, widely used in lubricants, gasoline, paraffin wax, and various crude oils to prevent increases in acid value or viscosity of lubricants and fuel oils. As a food antioxidant and stabilizer in food-grade plastics and packaged foods, it delays food rancidity. It can also be used in polyethylene (PE), polystyrene (PS), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride, ABS resin, polyester, cellulose resin, and foam plastics (especially white or light-colored products), food-grade plastics, natural rubber, synthetic rubber (styrene-butadiene, nitrile, polyurethane, cis-polybutadiene rubber, etc.), animal and vegetable fats and oils, as well as food products containing animal and vegetable fats and oils, cosmetics, and other products. The reference dosage is generally 0.1%–1.0%.

2.Applications
As a food additive, it effectively delays food rancidity. In the petroleum industry, it serves as an excellent antioxidant for lubricants, secondary-processed gasoline, paraffin, and other mineral oils. It is particularly valued as an antioxidant and stabilizer for food-grade plastics, polymer materials used in food packaging, and white or light-colored products made from natural and synthetic rubbers.

3.Storage
Store in a dry, cool environment as with general chemicals. Recommended storage period is 12 months.
