Bromophenol blue also has wide applications in the industrial sector, primarily used in the dyeing processes of silk, leather, and certain textile products. In recent years, a series of studies have explored the potential of bromophenol blue in pH-responsive smart materials. For example, nylon 66 fabric dyed with bromophenol blue has been used for the visual detection of acidic liquids, demonstrating good color yield (K/S value) and pH responsiveness. Furthermore, the combination of cationically finished cotton fabric with bromophenol blue enables an environmentally friendly dyeing process while imparting certain antibacterial properties to the fabric.
