Applications of Bis(2‑dimethylaminoethyl) ether (BDMAEE, CAS: 3033‑62‑3)

This product is a high‑activity blowing‑type tertiary amine catalyst. It mainly catalyzes the isocyanate‑water foaming reaction, accelerates CO₂ generation, shortens cream time and improves foam formation efficiency. It is frequently compounded with gel‑type catalysts to balance blowing and gelling reactions, and is widely applied in the polyurethane industry.

1.Flexible Polyurethane Foams

High‑resilience molded foams: For high‑resilience articles such as automobile seats, headrests, cushions, furniture sofas and mattresses. It improves foam resilience and elongation, endows products with excellent mechanical properties, enables fast demolding, and is suitable for automated molding production.

Slab‑stock flexible foams: General flexible slab foams for T/MDI systems. Compatible with low‑ to medium‑high‑density formulations. It delivers stable foaming performance, high tolerance to organotin additives, and facilitates easy formulation adjustment.

Semi‑rigid foams: Semi‑rigid buffer foams for automobile instrument panels and interior trims, as well as RIM (Reaction Injection Molding) products. Suitable for large‑part injection foaming processes.

2.Spray and Partial Rigid Foam Systems

Suitable for water‑blown spray rigid foams for building spray insulation and cold‑storage thermal‑insulation boards to promote the water‑NCO foaming reaction. Not recommended for one‑component moisture‑curing foam sealants.

3.Other Polyurethane‑related Fields

Serves as an auxiliary catalytic component in moisture‑curable polyurethane coatings, sealants and adhesives to accelerate moisture‑induced cross‑linking reactions.
