Introduction;
3-(4-Hydroxyphenyl)propionic acid, also known as phlorenic acid. It is sparingly soluble in benzene and chloroform, but soluble in ethanol, ether, ethyl acetate, and hot water. It develops a color change in the ortho position with ferric chloride, but not in the para position. It can be used as a pharmaceutical raw material, in the preparation of stomach medicines, and as a raw material for pesticides.
