II.Application

1.Raw Material for Nylon 11 Production

This compound is the sole monomer for preparing nylon 11 (PA11). PA11 is produced via polycondensation from renewable castor oil, featuring low moisture absorption, high impact resistance, and excellent chemical corrosion resistance. It is widely used in automotive fuel lines, industrial hoses, cable sheathing, and powder coatings.

2.Biodegradable Materials

Leveraging its long-chain aliphatic structure, this compound can copolymerize with monomers such as ε-caprolactone to produce biodegradable poly(ester amide)s (PEA). These materials combine the degradability of polyesters with the mechanical strength of polyamides, making them suitable for eco-friendly applications such as agricultural films and biodegradable packaging.

3.Fine Chemical Building Block

As a bifunctional molecule with an amino group at one end and a carboxyl group at the other, this compound serves as a versatile synthetic building block for solution-phase peptide synthesis and amide preparation. Its long-chain hydrophobic nature also makes it an ideal raw material for developing specialty surfactants and functionalizing nanomaterial surfaces.

4.Specialty Engineering Plastics

This compound can be used to synthesize high heat-resistant engineering plastics such as bio-based poly(amide-imide)s (PAI). After reacting with aromatic dianhydrides and subsequent polymerization, novel materials with high thermal stability (decomposition temperature >400°C) and good mechanical strength are obtained, suitable for electronics, aerospace, and high-temperature resistant coatings.
